Environmental Responsibility Workshop

The first activity of the educational series on environmental awareness took place today at Recycal, where around 50 children aged 6–14 from the SMART Sport summer camp had the opportunity to learn firsthand about recycling and the importance of sustainability. Took place on 16.7.2025 in Fushekruje.

This educational visit was made possible by the Delegation of the European Union to Albania and aims to raise awareness among the younger generation about environmental protection through hands-on experiences and collaboration with local initiatives.

The children visited a unique recycling center built entirely from recycled materials such as straw, clay, reused windows, discarded wood, and river stones.

Behind this initiative stand local youth who have not only built the center and a second-hand goods shop but are also implementing concrete projects that promote recycling. Soon, they will also be equipped with a glass recycling machine, further expanding the impact of this initiative supported by the EU4 Circular Economy and Livable Cities (EU4CELC) project – a project co-funded by the European Union and BMZ.
